What's the best place to donate cloths in good to great condition in NY?
How do we know they will be put to good use and go to people who need them?
If I were you, I'd stick with the homeless shelters or women's shelters. Often these woman need to return to the work force and do not have the clothes to do so or often leave their abusive spouse with only the clothes on their back. I have a friend who worked for a charitable organization and she told me that the staff there got first pick on what came in and did not pay or paid less than the general public would have if it had been put out for sale. I guess some people feel that this is their reward for volunteering. I volunteer just to be able to be of assistance, not for anything else or for any form of compensation. If you cannot locate any shelters, contact your local police station and they will put you in touch with someone from Victim's Services and maybe they can help you
