Where to buy high power/high FPS Airsoft or BB guns?
I'm looking for an air rifle modeled after a Sub Machine Gun or Assault Rifle that can shoot Airsoft, BB, or Pellet rounds at 1000+ FPS.
There are no such devices which can shoot all 3 of the different projectiles you mention (Airsoft, BB or Pellet) at those velocities.
However, if you are willing to come down on velocity, there are a number of Airsoft guns that will get you into the 300+FPS range, some of which are full auto. You can get these on - line, doing a google search under such will net you a number of sources, Pyramidair.com I think carries some of these.
If you are willing to come down on velocity and move to BB's there are a few full auto BB guns which will run mid 250 to low 300 FPS range.
If you are willing to move to pellets only, there are number of air rifles which will fit your needs. For example, at the high end Swivel Machine Works makes a virtual clone to an AR-15 9 shot high powered precompressed air rifle called the AIRROW. Extremely accurate, semi - auto, calibers up to .38 in a pellet and pellet energy at the muzzle into the high double digits. But be prepared to pay - $2,300 for something in this class.
If you are looking at something in the precompressed air technology and are less concerned about some of the features of the AIRROW there are a number of companies that make sure air rifles. I would recommend a site www.straightshooters.com.
Finally, if you are willing to move into single shot guns, you have a plethora of options. There are literally dozens of single shot spring piston air rifles in the 1000+FPS range, and at least 1 is modeled off of an AK47. These range from a few hundred to in the $1500 range depending on what level you are getting, with the Chinese made springers at one end and custom built European (British, German, Swiss) air rifles at the other. For the higher end, straightshooters.com is a good site, pyramidair.com has a good mix of high and middle, then sites like sportsmansguide.com will have mid to low.
