Can an impact wrench by used in place of a drill?
or does it just take sockets, and not the other bits?
No an Impact wrench is not even in the same class as a drill. an impact wrench like its name emplies used an impacting motion to tighten and loosen nuts and bolts. a drill is one continous circular motion. There are combos called impact drills the best ones are HILTI and cost a bunch of money and take specility bits. these are used to drill threw hard materials like cement and mortor.
