If music is such a powerful tool for learning, why don't more teaching programs use it?
Learning though song or rhythm embeds information in our minds. From the ABC's to multiplication tables, music fills our minds like simple brainwashing which is what any learning is actually. SO....since it is so effective, why isn't it used more?
I think many teachers are kind of afraid of music in a way. They just leave it to the music teachers to do, or seem to think it's only the music teachers place.
You're right - it is a very effective way for children to learn. If they are learning something through song, both sides of the brain are being used to process the info (music is processed in the opposite side of the brain than language). It's a higher and very effective way of learning and comprehending.
