How can I sharpen an expensive router bit?
It's a cabinet Door Router bit.
Don't use a grinder. Get a small diamond Sharpening Stone and use it to polish the flat side (back side) of the bit. Don't try to sharpen the curved edges. Polishing the flat sides of the bit will renew the sharp corner. Unless the bit is really bad, a fine stone will work well, otherwise you'll have to start with a coarse, then switch to a fine stone.
This is assuming it's a carbide bit. If it's High Speed steel (HSS) or plain Carbon Steel a regular sharpening stone will probably work.
