Choosing Solder and Soldering Iron for Computer Repair?
I have an hp pavilion dv1000 laptop with 3 USB ports, all 3 are worn out and nonfunctional (the contacts between the pins and the motherboard are broken). What I basically have to do is open it up and solder 3 new USB receptacles onto the motherboard. However, I'm not sure what type of solder and soldering iron are appropriate for this type of project. Any suggestions?
Get a PC soldering kit. Works like a charm!
