How do you use a Double End bag / Speed Ball?
This question has been really bugging me. I just got a little light on what it is for - timing and coordination. However how do you use it? If you keep hitting it at one place the ball simply comes back to you in a straight line. But somehow that just doesnt feel right and nobody I know, knows a correct answer
It does has some benefits, I can see. Hence can anyone who does boxing or knows something about this give me (and everyone else interested) some drills for this? Basically how do you use it properly?
hit it square, then stand in front of it and bob and weave in both directions(avoiding it)...there was good video somewhere of Tyson working with one...punch it square, step out and time it to hit it square with a hook (very good 'counter' drill), then step across, and hit it with a cross...most of the idea when using a bag like this is your foot and upper body movement, as you saw just a straight strike will make it move back and forth only...also not bad to practice punch - kick combinations...
