PLEASE help!!!! i need this by today! (electrolysis experiment problems)?
The Power Pack was set to 12 volts and the positive end was connected to a iron nail and the negative to a copper strip. Both electrodes were held in salty water and both bubbled. The water turned green and there was some white ash looking stuff that collected everywhere.
WHAT WAS THE WHITE ASH???? ive looked everywhere but can not find the answer! please help!
Cu(aq) is green
Fe(II) is black
Fe(III) is red
so the only thing that could be white is the salts of the electrolyte.
