Why are we only getting 20-30 minutes of cutting time out of new chain Saw Blades?
We've been using Oregon brand blades on our Poulon 260 Pro chain saw and the blade will be dull and stretched within a half hour of my husband stepping out the door with it. What could be causing this? Is there a likely culprit within the chain saw itself?
Depends on use and materials being cut. But is the chain oil lubricating the blade properly and is it the right grade oil being used. Are you using the correct blade for the saw anyway. Some chains can stretch quite quickly but your saw should allow for this by adjusting the bar length plus you can buy a sharpener to improve the blade sharpness. If all else fails use a different brand. As a rule of thumb use the saw manufactures official spares and you can't really go wrong.
