I have plaster walls and can't drill deeper than 1/2" before hitting metal in outer walls. Any suggestions?
Interior walls are plaster, no lath. House was built in 1945 and the exterior is all brick. I've tried using masonry and black oxide bits and was successful with two holes at the same location, but others have been elusive.
3/16 hole, by the way.
It doesn't seem like screen lath -- it seems solid. I would think I could drill through screen lath, as I have before...
Try adhesive hangers or glue. It is amazing how strong this stuff is these days.
