should i have resistance on windings of angle grinder.?
hi, my angle grinder was not working so i checked resistance on windings and got zero. i then checked the resistance of windings on a much smaller angle grinder that works and i got some resistance, about 2k. can i take it windings on larger angle grinder are gone.?
dont think the motor has commutator. i had the windings completely removed from agle grinder and took reading from there . i was just reading up elsewhere and it was saying readings can be very low and once there is not an open cicruit and both windings read the same it should be okay. so i am beginning to think problem could be elsewhere .thanks for your help

Sounds like it, but has the motor got a commutator with carbon brushes. It could be that they have worn out or got jammed in the brush slides, this would have the effect of an open circuit and stop power getting to the windings. Or, where have you measured the resistance from? - If you have measured it from the plug, is the switch faulty?
