How do Electric Trailer brakes work?
I have a two axle,bumper-pull trailer. My truck has a seven pin jack beside the hitch. I don't have one of those brake actuator thingies in the floor of my truck.
My question is: Is the electric brakes from my trailer connected to the brakes on my car? Do I need this actuator to be able to apply the brakes on the trailer?

I doubt that your electric trailer brakes will work without the actuator/control. However, try hooking the trailer up, jack the one wheel of the trailer up, have someone apply the truck brakes while you try to turn the trailer wheel. If it don't move, they work.
