Can gasless Mig Welding wire be used in a conventional MIG welding transformer?
Sure it can, wire that is intended for use in a Mig Welder that does not have gas achieves the oxidation protection with flux that is in the wire. All you need to do is not connect or open your gas valve. My dad has done this for some jobs when he doesn't have any gas. Personally, I prefer the results you get with welding wire shielded with gas over flux anyway, but if you're using Flux Wire, it should work the same in a MIG welder that can run gas compared with one that doesn't use gas.
